The Zhaga consortium was formed in February 2010 by an international group of companies. Their goal is to produce global standards that will allow interchangeability between products made by a diverse range of manufacturers, giving consumers the confidence to purchase LED products that will be readily available in the market, easily replaceable and able to adapt with performance upgrades and advancements in LED technology.
Zhaga members A.A.G. Stucchi and Almeco Group were among the first to launch a combined technology at the 2012 Light+Building event in Frankfurt with the release of the patented Lockit system. The innovative system allows fixing or dissassembly of the LED module, LED holder and reflector on Zhaga compliant LED modules in one easy movement, without the need for tools.
The fixing system is standard across Almeco's reflect+A range of Twist&Lock reflectors for LED and is optional on larger downlights. Reflect+A uses Almeco's ultimate reflector material vegaLED98 - with over 98% reflectivity across the full output spectral range for all types of LED, and the reflectors boast an outstanding Light Output ratio of up to 99%.
